Behind every refrigeration system is a team of engineers, project managers, trainers, technical support specialists, and long-time employees working together to help customers solve refrigeration challenges. From initial design discussions to training and support years after installation, our work extends far beyond the equipment itself. Here are five things you might not know about RDT.   ## 1: We Engineer Solutions, Not Just Equipment We don't build refrigeration systems from a catalog and hope they fit the application. Every project starts with a conversation. Our project managers and engineers work alongside consultants, dealers, contractors, and end users to understand the specific needs of the facility before equipment is manufactured. Whether it's a school district, hospital, stadium, correctional facility, blood bank, restaurant, or another unique application, the goal is the same: design a refrigeration solution that fits the project, not the other way around. That collaborative approach has been part of RDT from the beginning and continues to shape how we work today.   ## 2: **Our Greatest Strength Is Our People** RDT has approximately 80 employees, and many have spent a significant portion of their careers here. Eleven employees have been with the company for more than 10 years, and three have been part of the team for more than 20 years. What makes those numbers meaningful is that they span the company. You'll find long-tenured employees in manufacturing, project management, engineering, and support roles. The knowledge and experience that help move projects forward aren't concentrated in one department. They're woven throughout the organization. We're proud of the refrigeration systems we build, but we're equally proud of the people who build them. Their experience, dedication, and commitment to doing things the right way help shape every project that leaves our facility.   ### 3: **Innovation Starts in Our R&D Lab** Visitors touring RDT are often surprised to learn we operate our own research and development lab. Before products reach certification testing, they go through extensive development testing in-house. Our engineering team uses the lab to evaluate performance, efficiency, reliability, and new design concepts while improvements can still be made. The lab also plays an important role in future product development, giving us the ability to test emerging technologies and prepare for changing industry requirements. For us, testing isn't simply about checking a box. It's about continually improving the products we build.   ## 4: **Our Engineering Efforts Have Earned Industry Recognition** The commercial refrigeration industry continues to evolve, and we believe innovation means staying ahead of change rather than reacting to it. That commitment was recognized when RDT's NextGen Refrigeration Platform was named a finalist in the 2026 FCSI The Americas Innovation Showcase. Designed to address changing refrigerant requirements, improve efficiency, and support long-term reliability, the NextGen platform represents years of engineering development and forward-thinking design. We're proud of the recognition, but even more proud of the work behind it and the team that made it possible.   ## 5: **We Believe Education Is Part of the Job** A refrigeration system is only as effective as the people responsible for operating and maintaining it. That's why we provide training at no cost, either at our facility or on-site at the customer's location. Our training programs are available to consultants, dealers, technicians, maintenance personnel, and end users. Our support doesn't end when the equipment is installed. Technical support, warranty assistance, and ongoing customer service remain an important part of what we do. We believe knowledge should be shared, not kept inside the factory.
