RDT NextGen Platform Recognized as 2026 FCSI Innovation Showcase Finalist
RDT has been named a finalist in the 2026 FCSI The Americas Innovation Showcase for its NextGen Refrigeration Platform, a ground-up advancement in remote condensing unit design focused on performance, efficiency, and regulatory readiness.
The Innovation Showcase, held in conjunction with the FCSI The Americas Conference in Phoenix, recognizes manufacturers whose research and development efforts represent a meaningful step forward for the foodservice industry. Finalists are selected by a panel of emerging consultants, Board of Trustee members, and distinguished Fellows, making this a peer-reviewed recognition within the consultant community.
Purposeful Engineering for Today’s Foodservice Demands
The RDT NextGen Refrigeration Platform represents the latest evolution of the company’s condensing unit technology. Designed to address rising performance expectations, high-ambient operating conditions, and the ongoing transition in refrigerant regulations, NextGen reflects a comprehensive rethinking of system design.
As Brent Dyess, President of RDT, explains:
“The RDT NextGen Refrigeration Platform reflects a ground-up rethinking of how remote condensing units should perform in today’s environment. Instead of simply adapting to regulatory change, we optimized the refrigerant circuit, enhanced heat rejection performance, and modernized the control architecture to reduce refrigerant charge, improve energy efficiency, and strengthen system reliability. By integrating advanced condenser strategies and a low-voltage control platform, NextGen delivers stable operation in demanding high-ambient conditions while remaining ready for both A1 and A2L refrigerants. This is a true engineering evolution focused on lower operating costs, long-term durability, and practical flexibility for our customers.”
All NextGen units are designed to be A2L-ready and compatible with both A1 and A2L refrigerants, ensuring flexibility as regulatory requirements continue to evolve.
While rooted in advanced engineering, the impact for consultants and operators is straightforward: reduced refrigerant charge, improved energy efficiency, dependable operation in demanding environments, and long-term system reliability that protects operational investment.
Showcasing Innovation in Phoenix
RDT will participate in the Innovation Showcase during the 2026 FCSI The Americas Conference, April 23–26 in Phoenix, where attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the NextGen platform and speak directly with the RDT team.
The company extends its appreciation to FCSI Educational Foundation for continuing to support programs that highlight meaningful innovation across the foodservice industry.
